Results are being exported as text, how can I export them as numbers?
If you’re encountering this issue it is likely you are using the formatted Chemistry Exceedance Table report as a data export to obtain the data for further analysis. The Chemistry Exceedance Table report is designed for reporting, not as a data export, so is not the best way to export data if you need results as numbers to do further analysis.
There are alternative options available in ESdat, depending on how you need the data to be arranged:
- The ProUCL export (available in Data Migration Manager – Export), has analytes across the top, and sample information down the table - similar to the Chem Table export.  It also exports a detect or non-detect flag for each result, but in an adjacent column to the actual result which is exported as a number.
 - The “Chemistry List” view exports the result in it’s own column as a numeric format. Data Explorer also has an export similar to the Chemistry List, however it can be set up to retain a live data link in the export so that as more data is added to ESdat the data in Excel can be updated without having to re-export.
